Wilstech, Huawei sign MoC to help SMEs operate at lower costs

WILSTECH Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) with Huawei Technologies Sdn Bhd to assist small and medium enterprises (SME) in their businesses.

According to Wilstech Sdn Bhd COO Ernie Tan, the company intends to improve the sustainability of SMEs in Malaysia that are going into digitalisation as the cost of digitalisation is high.

“They also lack digital skill talents, do not have experience or do not have awareness,” he said during his presentation.

Therefore, a public cloud from Huawei and its robust infrastructure would provide the solutions they need to allow them to operate smoothly.

Since the end of June 2019, Huawei Cloud has launched more than 100 cloud services and has more than 6,000 partners worldwide in more than 170 countries.

“They are super scalable, with a very easy to use platform, extremely safe and secure, cost-effective and supports all sorts of requirements for clients, especially if there are errors ever-expanding on their functions as well as their enhancements, especially on new technologies,” Tan added.

Huawei Malaysia Cloud and Artificial Intelligence Business VP Lim Chee Siong has observed huge demands of digitalisation across organisations in Malaysia and believes that this MoC is an important milestone.

“Between Wilstech and Huawei, we will focus on the cooperation, evolving the joint export, develop and market new technology areas and software solutions that will help all levels of SMEs to accelerate the uptake transformation journey to stay competitive in the market,” he said during his opening remarks.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysia has undergone drastic changes in its socioeconomic landscape and digitalisation has changed our daily lives.

Therefore, Lim felt that it is crucial to master digital skills and the usage of technologies in all businesses in order to survive in this era.

“We strongly believe that we need cooperation and this cooperation between us and Huawei will be a step forward.

“Moving forward, Malaysia will provide its best technical support to that and will ensure a better consumer experience, business experience to create new business opportunities and draw the interests of more end users.”

Gracing the occasion was senate deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Ali Mohamad.
